Sunday, October 29, 2023 - Lots of oak vanilla on the nose & palate. Ripe fruit typical of CA Pinot’s. I still can enjoy this style periodically but don’t want a steady diet of it.

10/31/2023 2:06:00 AM - Thanks WineGuyDelMar in reference to the Bordeaux 2014 pricing . You are quite right to say that 2014 St Estephe’s are very close price wise to the 2015 vintage , however as you probably are aware 2015 had tricky vintage conditions with some chateaux particularly St Estephe , less so other communes . The alcohol levels are also quite high. After this with the exception of 2017 there is a marked increase. Generally across the board fine wine prices have stalled or have dropped somewhat so it’s a buyers market at the moment . Lucky us being able to enjoy these wines . I am about to head to the Outer Hebrides for a week so have made a raid in the cellar to share with a friend 😀

10/31/2023 6:23:00 AM - I’ve been noticing that prices for some 2015 top names are low. As we know St Estephe & Pauillac got the most rain so didn’t fare as well. I did buy a few Grand Puy LaCoste but have concentrated in Margaux, StE & Pessac Leognan which did much better. Pomerol too but I generally don’t buy much because of higher prices.
