Sunday, May 12, 2024 - Off restaurant list. Drank two glasses and then moved to the 96 Angelus we took to the restaurant so finished this the next week. As others mentioned this has a surprisingly developed light golden color. Upon opening this was fairly rich, round and sweet. Not overly oily but still very much in a New Worls Chardonnay style. Oak well managed and very pleasant to drink.
On day 2 surprisingly the sweetness has disappeared, this is much more defined by acidity which results in a clearer delineation. Chalk. I liked this and opened out of curiosity the 2017 to compare. The 2017 is in my eyes a touch better in terms of balance but also freshness.
