CT Texas Offline III; 11/18/2011-11/19/2011 (Galveston): So much citrus on the nose. And a little bit of ammonia---like windex on the nose. But in a very good way. Really like a white bordeaux, as far as freshness goes, with lots of citrus-fruit notes throughout, except for the fact that it has some buttery, velvety staying power that a white bordeaux simply doesn't usually have.

Filling in w/the Friday Brown Bag Group (Rich & Dana's): Our bottle. Pale color, especially compared to the two previous wines. Notes of tart apple and mineral with an underlying smokiness. Nice acidity, with flavors of apple and stone. I'll probably drink my remaining two this year. 89-90 pts.
I didn't say anything knowing this was ours, but it was interesting to hear everyone's comments and to see their surprise to find a "lowly" white Beaune revealed. I am happy to have a couple more, and wish I'd have been able to find more than 3 at the $16 closeout price.

Opened and served immediately. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Slightly subdued nose giving way to notes of sulphur, light notes of spearmint, paraffin and wet stones. Flavors of pears dominate laying over a bed of minerals. Medium acidity, light to medium body. Drink over the short to medium term. I'll likely my remaining bottles between now and 2012.

Anwar opened this at his home. Drank it with a white sauce chicken lasagna. This seemed to be well balanced. Not too oaky, not too rich. Some smoke and apple notes. Very nice. 90 points.

Big Ten of the Wine World (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had lovely aromas of stone and tropical fruit. The palate was rich and crisp, and had good minerality, tropical fruit, and a little oak on the finish.

Warm Weather Wines (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had a nice peach and smoke mixture, that ended with a touch of oak. The palate was crisp, with good acidity, and had butter, smoke, and apple. The nose was very nice, but the palate was too oaky for my taste.

Pale color, with aromas of apple, ineral and smoke, consistent with the previous bottle. Well-balanced, with apple and mineral tones on the palate.
