  • Decanted one hour and drank over another hour paired with Veal Saltimbocca. Nose is classic Old School Italy. Light color in the Grassl Bordeaux glass reminds me of Pinot Noir. Medium weight, still tannic with sour cherry, tobacco, forest floor and pine needles. Went great with food. Probably not as great by itself. Not as structured or full as Montefico which is the best 15 Produttori Riserva I’ve tried so far. This is a bit more feminine but solid. Will improve with more bottle time as tannins relax more.

  • I would not drink this now. This is my second bottle and second disappointment. I cannot reconcile this with the 97 point review from KO for Wine Enthusiast. Wine in bond until last year, stored well since and no defects, just seems thin & one dimensional. The silky Nebbiolo mouthfeel is the only major positive today. A little floral quality emerged (decanted 3 hours b4 lunch) as we got to end of bottle, shared by 4 of us over lunch. I note a Vinous review from 2020 that said the wine was starting to shut down. I would have thought the wine would be through that phase by now but doesn’t feel like it (and this was entirely consistent with first bottle). Tannins present although not overwhelming, but I suspect this has a powerful underlying structure. Therefore I hope the wine will evolve considerably over time and grow into its very positive reviews. I’ll wait at least a few more years, if not more, before seeing if that might be the case.

  • Most likely tunnel. I think there is more fruit ready to pop in a few years. Very fresh still. Hold.

  • 2015 Produttori & Friends (Nella Kitchen & Bar, Los Olivos, CA): Muted raspberry and licorice aromatics on the shy nose. Medium bodied.
Dark fruit. Some earth and iron. Restrained and tannic, clearly in need of more aeration, or better yet more bottle age. Nonetheless elevated nicely accompanying the food. Very long finish.

  • Didn't take notes- beautiful nose (floral, sour cherry, menthol, pine resin) and palate similar flavor profile ex. palate. Medium+ body, medium tannins/acitiy and long finish. 92+/-

  • Violet, menthol, crushed rock, licorice, and maraschino liqueur. Full, with ripe cherry. Sinewy on entry with bracing acidity. Finishes with saline and plenty of fine tannins. Really exhilarating.

A few hours in, and the wine is really on fire. Add some capsicum to the very expressive nose and some coal tar on the finish. One of the best young nebbiolo-based wines I've ever had (94-96).

  • I suspect this wine might add some complexity down the road, but it is drinking very well right now. The primary flavors of cherry and raspberries are balanced with acidity and length of finish. Delightful.

  • I’ve had a couple of bottles, each with the same profile. The wine is clear, with a fruit forward nose. Good balance and excellent finish. Maybe waiting will improve the complexity, but I find it to be in a great spot.

  • Day 1: Giving a generous score out of deference, but this Produttori Pajé needs another 5 yrs and may be dumb-phasing. Raw materials are there but avoid the child sacrifice & grab a more drinkable wine. It will likely be worth the wait, mehopes. Day 2: Changed score from 90 to 91. Coming together so much better, but more time will only help this wine.

  • Not "full on" in any aspect... But pretty and drinkable, off course. Considering the subdued profile i went looking for some delicate subtleties - not really finding any. Not bad but I had higher expectations tbh. Tunnel?

  • This was phenomenal. Pretty massive as Produttori goes. Dark color, lots of tar, raspberry fruit and cinnamon stick, a little medicinal on opening, this bottle was beautifully balanced. Quite a treat!

  • Medium ruby colour. Pronounced nose with red cherry, ripe raspberry, strawberry, rose petal, violet, roasted walnuts, licorice, forest floor, black pepper and eucalyptus. Pronounced taste of red cherry, ripe raspberry, strawberry, licorice, roasted walnuts, eucalyptus, cocoa, vanilla and sweet leather. Long and dry finish. High acidity. High tannins. Full body. An outstanding and complex Barbaresco with a clear fruit and very floral touch that is still young. Needed three hours to open.Drink in 5 to 15 yrs.

  • This wine needs a little more time. That being said, began to develop over a couple of hours into something beautiful. Light and earthy with some floral elements. Will do better to sit for another 2-3 years at a minimum.

  • A totally different fish to the Muncagota, this has complex and gorgeously sweet blasts of strawberries, pine and mint, opening up to reveal tannic tar notes. Still very firm, this is beautifully feminine and reassuringly balanced, showing tons of energy and tension, capped off with a long liquorice finish. Well worth opening one now but this should have a long drinking window and age brilliantly. Really like this. 94
