Wine Spectator Grand Tour (Las Vegas, NV): Colombo's 2020 Cornas Les Ruchets is a deep ruby Syrah that flaunts scents of wild berries, dark plums, rosemary, black olives, white pepper and a hint of smoke. Medium-to-full-bodied, freshly acidic and without alcoholic heat (14.5%), it delivers flavors in line with the aromas, adding a thread of iron on the mid-palate. Even at this early stage, the wine's oak and plush tannins make for a silky-textured drinking experience, ultimately concluding with a lengthy smooth finish. Beautifully crafted, this will provide plenty of pleasure over the upcoming years. Drink now-2035.

This could really use an hour or two decant, but was tasted as a PNP. The winery notes blackberry, garrigue, and warm fig (and I agree). Very smooth, dry palate. Full, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
Tasted this at Wine Spectator’s Grand Tour in New Orleans. I’ve not had many Cornas. It was on DQ’s must try list. This was very nice.

WS Grand Tour (Walkaround Tasting) (New Orleans): A favorite of this in older vintages, Inwas impressed with how great this is now. A fruit forward, polished and modern style of Syrah, but with a complex nose of blackberries, herbs and savory. A buy or a good restaurant choice.
