Solid effort and ready to drink with a short decant. Dark purple with strong smells. There is some fruit on the front end but the mineral/graphite notes dominate for now. Long finish with integrated tannins and chocolate notes.

This is a really solid wine. Opened and decanted at 5pm and trying my 1st half glass now. Really awesome. dark, blackberry and blueberry fruit, semi-dark chocolate, tons of minerality, a long finish. More to come.
It was 5pm EST. And yes, the world works on EST. Get used to that.

This should be good but in reality, it is not. This is from a premier Calistoga site that I have had multiple times. It is dark, has strong smells but essentially falls apart. I did work with this over 2 days, decanting and aerating and it improved but all of my manipulation was in vein. And... it didn't taste like a Mike Smith wine at all. It wasn't creamy and It wasn't an early drinkable wine.
10/20/2022 1:49:00 PM - Check out Cotes de Castillon, Cotes de Bordeaux wines. Just East & Adjacent to St Emilion. Same blend mostly Merlot with Cab Franc. I’ve bought Ch Montlandrie 15, 18 & 19. $20-$25 and high quality. Check out on Jeff Leve’s The Wine Cellar Insider website.
10/30/2020 4:45:00 PM - #1 I was curious if you have tried the Rudius yet? Interested in your notes. It is from the same site (Tierra Roja) that TOR uses. Makes sense since Jeff Ames makes both and owns the Rudius label. They have recently offered vintage Kaley on their site for the same price as recent release. Cheers! Dan
11/20/2019 7:24:00 PM - I forgot to say on Venge, age 5-7+ years or decant 3+ hours based on my Hunnicutt experience. This is NOT a Carter. I am thinking that the Trespass will be similar. Dan
11/20/2019 7:03:00 PM - Cheers! Based on your earlier notes/comments, I ordered Trespass Cab and Intrigue. Thank you for your notes as I have enjoyed the Venge Hunnicutts.
11/3/2018 8:08:00 PM - Hi, Love your reviews. From Johnstown originally. Keep on posting. BTW had a very nice 15 Palmer Stagecoach, and 16 Venge Silenceux and 12 Dollarhide elevation tonight. all very good in very different ways.

5/6/2017 10:09:00 AM - Thank you for becoming a Fan of my Tasting

1/3/2017 4:55:00 AM - Good to be friends as well. Aiya,, still waiting to taste those? We await, with salacious anticipation, to read your experiences!
10/9/2015 5:28:00 AM - Nope - I missed the 2012, purchased the 2013 and am hoping for the best! Is there a way to send a message/email privately or is everything public on Cellartracker?
