Another fine bottle of Ridge Geyserville Zin. What else is new? Short decant to remove sediment. Dark brambly cherry, mint, cigar box, and a pleasant velvety mustiness lead the way on the nose. Concentrated minty red fruit on the palate stopping just short of jammy. Long mineral-driven finish provides wonderful balance. Probably close to peak now but will hold for 3-5 more years.

Interesting Meursault. Nose of key lime, sugar-frosted pound cake, and a deep soapy quality. Lime and confectioner's sugar in the mouth exhibiting a nice blend of acid and weight. Just sharp enough and also just round enough. Seems to have room to grow into some nuttiness. We'll see.

Nice to revisit this wine about a year after my previous one. Decanted to remove sediment. Open immediately with black raspberry, bay leaf, and smoky grilled bread. Focused attack of herb-infused black cherry and a medium charcoal finish. Plenty of mouth-coating acidity for freshness. Lovely representation of Gigondas. Drink or hold.
