The wine was bone-dry and fruit was integrated into that dryness. It is smooth and medium+ body. The Tannin blends perfectly with the overall wine dryness.

I bought a case and this is the first bottle that has tasted right. A nice Smooth Malbec with bright fruit and tannin on the finish. We'll see how the other bottles are.

The wine is a bargain. A solid Cab that is easy drinking, smooth, and asty. It is not a 92 like Wine Enthusiast claims but can be pput up against half the $20 Cabs and will be picked as superior. A touch on the sweet side but that is the trend now. A $7 wine for everyone.

5/28/2021 9:35:00 AM - Well.....hello New Friend! Yes, I've had Chad for years now. I had a '12 Private Reserve the other day that is still drinking well though it seems his wines of late have not done so well. The 'market' has changed dramatically over the past 10 years in Napa/Sonoma. Used to be Chad was the only one doing this kind of stuff with leftover barrels of juice. Now? There are more people than I can count doing it, especially Wineaccess themselves doing many bottlings a year of other people's juice under their name, thereby cutting Chad out of the loop altogether. Largely, I've been underwhelmed with all the other Chad imposters putting out $125 juice for $30/bottle. You just can't really trust what they are saying anymore. It's become a saturated liquidation market. I'm finding all of them not worth my time or dollars today though I recently sprung for one on Wineaccess, thinking I would give them one last try. We'll see in a few weeks if it's any good or not but I suspect not. I'll just give it to my kids, if that's the case. Lol....
2/2/2019 3:49:00 AM - Good Morning, very much appreciate the extra tips on the bottle of 2014 Jorge Ordoñez & Co. Málaga #2 Victoria. Helps as had no ideas as of yet; now going to pair with the fav you mentioned, good ole' creme brulee. Have a nice weekend!!
4/19/2016 7:30:00 AM - wtianseter,
Thank you for the note. Good luck on "paring " down you r cellar. I have been trying to do exactly that for at least 5 years with little success. In that time I have managed to only reduce the count by about 200 bottles and 100 of those were because of the Premier Cru bankruptcy.
2/9/2013 12:17:00 PM - Howdy - regarding my usage of points. There is no real science behind it, I don't score most of the time now but that'll change, I'm sure. I do hang with an "anti scoring" crowd though. :-)
