  • 1996 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Clos Vougeot

Secondary aromas dominate the nose with earthiness, old wood varnish, underbrush, dust, iron wrapped around dark cherries, raspberries, old leather, licorice, smoked bacon, herbs, and exotic spices. A light bodied wine packed with flavor showing sour cherries, raspberries on entry, the midpalate reveals dark chocolate, licorice, and mouth searing acidity. The finish is of moderate length with woody flavors, herbs, black pepper, and chewy tannins. This wine is at its peak, the fruit is starting to fade, drink up soon!

  • 2005 Domaine du Pégau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée

Musty feral aromas at first that dissipate quickly revealing blackberries, kirsch, garrigue, lavender, licorice, black olives, roasted coffee, and black pepper. Delicious on the palate with sweet dark fruit flavors on entry, a reserved midpalate which reveals dark cherries, dark chocolate, licorice, and roasted coffee. The flavors remain seamlessly on the palate to the end where notes of roasted meats, black pepper, coarse rustic tannin's emerge. Very old world in style, quite earthy and slight brett, but still filled with delicious fruit.

  • 2011 Domaine Roulot Bourgogne Blanc

A crystalline clear wine with slight green tones on the rim, delicate floral aromas on the nose along with apricot, lime, and crushed stones. On the palate the wine enters showing green apples and apricots, the midpalate reveals citric notes with delineated acidity that continues on to the moderate length spicy finish. A light bodied wine that is dry and crisp, this shows energy as if it were constructed around the refreshing acidity and focused yet restrained fruit.
