I enjoyed this wine along with a few other Barolos at an Italian dinner with friends. The other wines were from different producers, but single vineyard wines from 1995 and 2005. This was my favorite wine of the night among them all. The tannins were really well integrated by now, and the fruit was still very vibrant. The color was slightly bricked, and I think there are still many years of life left in the rest of the bottles I have. Glad to be able to enjoy them in the future!

This is an excellent value wine that punches way above its price point. It has a fresh and vibrant palate, balanced with soft tannins and well integrated oak that makes everything work in harmony. It has a quaffable character that is probably better suited to dinner parties and cocktail hours than standing up to a rich meal. I've had a lot worse for the money and wished for a lot more from much more expensive wines.

This wine is past its prime, but my bottle still had some life left in it. Very mellow. It's definitely better with food. Overall not bad for its age and the price point.

3/9/2015 7:29:00 PM - I commend your diversity in the cellar - best way to learn. Looks like you've got a got start on a solid foundation and plenty of daily drinkers to defend the gems. This year I've challenged myself to buy 1/2 - 1/3 fewer wines, but twice or more the cost (and, hopefully, quality level). Nice catch on the Brovia wines!
3/23/2014 12:06:00 AM - I drink lots of Brunello & Barolo, and now also branching out and exploring all other countries/regions/varietals. Stay tuned. Enjoy the wine journey! Cheers!
