Vibrant yellow color. Intense dry extract. Gorgeous aromatics. Explosive on the palate. Extremely complex. Lots of herbs and spice. The long persistent finish is what is most impressive about the wine. It reminds me of a FX Pichler Unendlich because of the intensity of the flavors and the grapefruit and rind like flavors. One of the better if not the best Van Volxem wines I have ever had and I have struggled to find ones that seemed open. I would like to try this alongside the Molitor Scharzhofberger GG. Super wine.

10/8/2022 4:27:00 PM - Thank you for your kind words. By all means mention my notes but as my profile says, I am no wine guru - a dilettante is really a fair summation.
I haven't tried a lot of Gruner, or Austrian wine generally, although I have had generally pleasant experiences. With such a long history of making wine, I wonder if they might be a bit of a sleeping giant? Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Nice rendition of a natural wine from Bordeaux. Some leather and horse that reminds one of older classic bordeaux.

Tasted along side of 2012 Steinertal.
Exotic organge/marmalade/blood orange aromatics. More viscous than the Steinertal.
