Mother's Day dinner. Much better than a bottle from the same batch last July. The bottle time has really helped balance the red fruits and allow the wine to express itself. Polished and pretty for a good value wine.

Finally got around to opening this and the bottle age was kind to this wine. Perfectly balanced style and better than the 43 that I had last year. Held up well over an hour or more at dinner. Definitely one of my favorites in the price range for a big house NV. But there is still better value out there.

1964 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo Riserva

A bit different than my last bottle 4 years ago. That was tight as nails and bigger and meatier. This one had a lot of that structure but softened in a good way over a 2 hour decant. Lighter fruited like most Barolo's of this age. Even though very different than the last bottle, I liked this equally. Red capsule, original release.
