Deep ruby colour. Black fruits, heady herbs and smoky notes on the nose. Lighter in flavour concentration and body than the nose suggests. Nice acidity, ripe and smooth tannins, with moderate alcohol (it’s only 13%). It manages to be very Italian (the Corvina sees to that) despite the international varieties. It’s actually incredibly drinkable and rather fun. Good value too.

Intense ruby colour. Pronounced nose of cherry, raspberry jam, balsamic, sage, liquorice, dried rose, violet, smoke, black pepper, gunmetal, lipstick. It’s intense and perfectly balance, with a load of acidify, high alcohol and grippy tannins, but nothing is out of place. Still plenty of fruit but with lovely savoury notes. It’s excellent. I’d probably drink it after a meal rather than with it - sit back and luxuriate in it.

An utterly intense nose of yellow plum, peach, dried apricot, patisserie cream, croissant, apple, pineapple. On the palate it is a riot of fresh and dried fruits, with only subtle autolytic character. Nothing saline here.

8/3/2022 1:07:00 AM - hey Mr Garreth, I can see we have a lot of overlapping wines, and hence taste. Good luck with the WSET, I managed to get three done, and maybe one day the Diploma. Greetings from Zurich. Bram
