One glass recorked in the bottle and left for me to try on Day 2.
Super nice and open at this stage even though it's the latest vintage.
Primarily focused on light and lush red berries; redcurrant, sour cherry, unripe raspberry and cranberry with a lovely fruit acidity, but there's also a green and herbaceous touch which is not removing focus from the light and crushable fruits. Nice balance and soft tannins!
A lovely red in a more "new school"-style that we're seeing quite a lot lately. A nice wine at the price point, but I think I'd personally then rather seek out the reds from Petit-Roy, which I find in the same category but costs slightly less/around the same but with more variety as well.

The jungle drums for Si Tu Sais have begun, so it was time for me to open this regular Bourgogne Blanc from 2020.
I've had some very interesting chats with other wine lovers on Instagram about this wine, so it was time to put it to the test...
And for me, personally, it just doesn't live up to the hype.
It's by no means a bad wine, but it's just very classical in its expression, and for me it's just rather uninspiring and "regular".
Quite tight on the nose, but there's a big hit of toasted oak, tropical fruits, citrus fruits, custard and some kind of spice.
On the palate it feels rather closed and restrained, but it opens up more over time. There's quite a warm and exotic feeling to the wine, where again the tropical fruits, lemon custard, toasted oak and oak spice were the main factors with some citrus fruit acidity to back it up. Some alcohol heat/spice/pepper bitterness and burn on the finish. For me it's just lacking some energy and drive to really stand out.
When paying about €50 (which is not the hype-pricing) for a BB like this, I just really expect more - this is the same price that I'm getting Vincent Dancer BB and JCB Saint-Aubin 1er for... Maybe the newer vintages have seen a large improvement?

Better than I remember it - this must have a really great vintage as the base, because the acidity and energy in this was really lovely, and not as I remember it from years ago!
Still as I also remember it from years ago; quite heavy on the dosage that doesn't feel integrated enough, but this time the pure citrus fruit, sharp acidity and lovely energy really help lifting this up - at the price of €46 for magnum, this is a no-brainer...

12/14/2021 8:58:00 AM - Thank you very much for your kind remark on my rather critical tasting of the Jacquesson 739 D.T.! If you ever have a chance to taste it, I would be curious to know what you think. I for one am hoping that my remaining bottles will improve at least somewhat with further bottle aging!

I find Kabinet & Spatlese the most perfect match with fresh simple crab or crab linguine.
With all your coast line do you get lots of fresh crab
