Needed a couple hours to flesh out but what a classic Gevrey. It for sure needed that air and offered lots of earth, sou bois, touch of barnyard and dried red berry fruits and cured meat. Very alive and drinking well at tertiary peak. Unlike the extracted style of old Faiveley.

My wine. Similar to previous note. Showing mostly floral notes initially to confuse everyone, dark soils notes only showed up an hour later. Probably the most underrated of all Faiveley holdings.

Jason's birthday: Another silky, elegant wine but this was more easily identifiable as Burgundy. Tannins were a little more resolved than the ‘91 that came before; quite lush and sensual so I guessed Vosne. Put on more concentration and earthy soil notes with time to become more Gevrey-like. Agreed with someone who said Latricières is always the most ready out of old-school Faiveleys.

This shows gorgeous fruit on nose and palate with a touch of tar and licorice; very caressing silky texture; nice notes of autumnal sous bois and funk, just going solidly tertiary but loads of life ahead. Faiveley nailed it in ‘93 as shown here and in a ‘93 Charmes I loved 5 years back. 94+

Jason's birthday: Dark fruit, initially a bit fizzy even, medium length. Very nice. NSG late 90s?
