  • Nose: rose petals, smoke, candy, earthy, black tea, freshly cut green bell pepper, nectar, dried leaves, raspberry
Notes: 13.5% ABV. Quite some bricking in the wine and this is certainly feeling a little more advanced than it should in terms of color. The 2004 greenness shows up clearly as the green pepper aroma crept up in the nose. Many have criticized the 2004 vintage for these kind of green notes and doubted its potential but for me I actually find 04s to be very attractive and perfect to consume now. This bottle had a wonderful nose of rose petals, candy accompanied with notes of smoke, earth ad black tea。 When all these integrates well you will get your perfect Burgundy red that is seductive and intriguing. Groffier wines rarely disappoint and has demonstrated excellent quality and consistency time over time. I really enjoyed this wine and it's probably time to drink up now, as I mentioned, this may be a bit advanced.

  • Pale ruby red with bricking. Aromas of wet forest floor, bright red berries, plums and hung meat. Bitter-sweet palate shows bright red berries, plum skin, savory brown spice, good acidity and a leather tinged finish. No green meanies on this one. OK.

  • Found a few 2014's hiding in the cellar. Hazy brick in color. A whiff of red florals quickly gives way to hefty forest floor, game, red plums, cherry pits on the nose. The palate shows sour-sweet red plums & currants, iron and meaty notes and a clipped moist earth finish. No greeness on this wine, it is just OTH.

  • I opened 3 bottles on 3 consecutive nights. Each was given a 90 minute slo-o. First bottle showed some bricking at the edges, pleasant burgundian nose and soft palate. Fruit seemed to be in decline. Second bottle opened a night later was much better with more vibrant fruit and a lengthy and elegant finish. Third bottle opened a day later also drank well. It was better than the first bottle, but a step behind bottle two. Don't think these have a lot of years ahead, so I suggest drinking now.

  • Past prime and showing some age and bricking. Still some fine fruit but fading.
