Tasted over 3 hrs, edition 6 (of 6) of 2014 Bertheau horizontal -med dark red minimal clearing -nice Burg funk mostly blows off leaving fragrant iron red fruit earth -med acidity, med weight envelopes the palate with earthy slightly tart black cherry iron fruit that is just starting to fade a bit, med tannins and the faintest of oak spice on the long finish -a bit burlier but also more complete and better balanced than all the 1er crus, showing its proximity to Morey, drinking well now with some air but still early on its mature plateau

Med ruby, lighter rims. Fragrant nose of red fruit and dried roses. Bone dry palate of dusty dark red fruit, ripe raspberries and cranberries, pluots, licorice, coffee grounds. Balanced, slightly aggressive PnP but opened up nicely. With time and air, sweet red fruit comes out with better concentration. Very solid wine with upside.
Paired with Perigord truffles and creme fraiche scrambled eggs.

Enrapturing, and elegant. Just an absolutely remarkable wine. Crunchy fruit, bright acidity, but the star of the show is a hauntingly-gorgeous melange of spices.
Incredible depth, stuffing for days, and yet it feels almost weightless -- just like my favorite wines.

Drank the 2010 first and this followed after. The 2014 was soulful and had nice depth and complexity to it. Cedric actually preferred the 2010 which I found to be more brooding wine and powerful. I found the 14 more accessible but think age will treat them both well. T 93/94 for 2014 , 94 2010

Excellent wine. Showed very well for only being 8 yo. Should improve from here.
