It's just too much for my Burgundian-leaning palate; a bit hot, a bit oaky (still, can you believe it), and a bit jammy. Was my favorite many years ago when we visited their tasting room in Oregon, but ultimately I wonder if this could've aged another 5 years into a more appealing form for my palate. Oh well, I'll never know--only bottle.

Pleasant enough, but fairly straightforward in two phases. Harsh tannins and sourness gave way to a richer, and smoother, if still one-dimensional fruit taste after an hour+ decant. May just be in a slow phase; holding my last bottle for a couple years.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. Somewhat harsh tannins upon opening became less pronounced as the wine aerated. Long finish but not especially complex.

med color, 2hrs in decanter, at first little nose, improved with air, cherries, long finish, probably at its peak

Pleasant, but not as complex as Beaux Freres usually is.
