Pretty on the nose with white flowers and fresh cut summer hay. Ripe fruit with a medium viscosity mouthfeel that rolls over the tongue with a potpourri of tart cherry, cinnamon spice and earthen delights. The tannins are so subtle that it played well with the cedar plank sockeye salmon fillet entrée & is a versatile food wine . No rush if you are cellaring a few away for later.

Pretty magnificent, this. Pours a rusty ruby and the perfumed aromatics jump out of the glass: dried flowers, rose petal, cassia bark, strawberry and dried raspberry, black tea, a hint of golden marzipan. Lifted with a high-toned concentration. A kind of silkiness on the palate, cherry and liquorice, tannins are super fine and round. Refined and elegant with real substance. Incredible value.

100% Nebbiolo from Carema, aged for a minimum 4 years with at least 30 months in old botti casks. 13,5% alcohol.
Luminous, translucent ruby-red color with a brick-red hue. The nose feels fragrant and savory with aromas of licorice root, brambly raspberries and redcurrants, some meaty tones, a little bit of gravelly minerality, light balsamic nuances, a hint of fresh sour cherry and a touch of pine tar. The wine feels ripe but also quite Burgundian on the palate with a medium body and intense flavors of sweet red cherries and juicy black raspberries, some savory notes of meaty umami, a little bit of stony minerality, light crunchy notes of redcurrants, a hint of licorice root and a touch of sour cherry bitterness. The overall feel is firm and pretty structured, thanks to the high acidity and moderately grippy tannins, but the mouthfeel is still silky rather than tough and tightly-knit. The finish is quite long, dry and moderately grippy with a savory aftertaste of redcurrants and black raspberries, some notes of meaty umami, a little bit of licorice root, light balsamic tones, a hint of sour cherry bitterness and a touch of tar.
A wonderfully silky, elegant and relatively Burgundian Nebbiolo that is still very youthful, fresh and focused. Just like a classic Barolos and Barbarescos, these Caremas need time. Although Caremas don't seem to evolve into something as complex and interesting as the best Barolos and Barbarescos, I feel this wine is still quite far away from its apogee - most likely this wine will arrive at its plateau of maturity after another 7-12 years and then it will stay there for many years more. Even the wine comes from the solar 2015 vintage, this is a terrific, classically styled stuff for people who want their Nebbiolos without any extra weight or ripeness.

Really wonderful, pure and crystalline version of Nebbiolo. Light bodied, Lightly tannic (for neb at any rate), with spring flowers, crisp red cherry fruit, and a touch of funk. Pitch perfect balance - really very morish. Excellent as a food wine, with a simple summer tomato pasta. Drink now or lay down for several years for more complexity, but it’s the kind of Nebbiolo you can feel confident drinking at any age.
Still going strong on day 3, with a touch more clarity and depth, and also a hint of chocolate mint that actually complements the cherry, as strange as that sounds
