  Nose: rose, lychee, cherry tomato, smoke, sweet cherry
  Notes: It remains confusing what's going on with all the different names/cuvees/labeling from Laurent and very limited information is available to explain the difference. Nevertheless this wine shows an excellent light aroma with a very interesting sweetness to it. This turned out to be quite different from what I had last time from the same batch of wines. I would say that the nose perhaps is a lot better than the palate as the palate is already a little tired and probably won't last for much longer.

  Nose: strawberry, blueberry, earth, spices, dried rose
  Notes: very light in color, can see some clear bricking. Palate is already light and this certainly is very ready for drinking. Behind the heavy oak used by Laurent once their wines get older it's actually quite gentle. It takes some time for his wines to get to this stage but it's certainly quite rewarding when it gets to this stage. The palate is filled with nice minerality and this apparently is quite a signature in his old wines.

Super bright upfront with plenty of floral perfume notes, clove spice, tart cranberry, and crunchy purple fruit. Well balanced with good acidity and overall really fresh. One of the better 1997's I've had in a while, albeit I haven'd tasted many recently. I really enjoyed this tonight and this was clearly my wine of the evening.

  Light murky, reddish brown, nice brim, red fruit, medium bodied palate, high acidity, short finish
