The 2009 Faiveley Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos. With its beautiful pale golden color, notes of baked apple, white flower blossom, lemon curd, escorting you to a rich full bodied creamy palate of lemon zest, flint, pineapple, balanced acidity and a long straw tinged ever so persistent finish. Beautiful wine.

honeyed, with a remarkable richness while still maintaining a proper lean framed chablis profile. really quite good. where were they getting their grapes from?

Served blind to Michael Walter and Charles at the Wolf in Oakland. Light gold in color. Ripe white peaches on the nose. In the mouth we have crisp apple, citrus and cantaloupe. Good acidity and nicely balanced. It doesn't have much minerality, but rather the purity one might expect from an excellent Puligny Montrachet. Nonetheless, Walter nails it as being a high end Chablis.

The Last Supper (Before the Covid-19 Shutdown) (El Ideas): A seriously fruit forward and flinty nose. The palate is bright with ripe (for Chablis) peach and tropical fruit. Good acid tension to offset the ripeness. Good now.

Last Wine Dinner Before the Coronavirus Shutdown (EL Ideas - Chicago IL): Starts out like a rich 2009 and less Chablis-like, but finishes with enough bright energy that shows what we want from good Chablis. Borderline Grand Cru density.
