Not much on the nose but in the mouth this is clean and crisp with lemon, apple and minerals. A nice palate-cleansing apertif and a great value.

Tempranillo/Garnacha blend. Kirsch nose. Mix of red and black fruits in the mouth, some earth. A bit ripe but with nice acidity. Would buy again. (my 2nd, group's 1st)
- 2006 Senor de Lesmos Rioja Crianza - Spain, La Rioja, Rioja
Black fruit, vanilla, toasty oak on the nose. Similar palate. Balanced but the oak bothers me. Others liked it much more. (my 4th, group's 2nd)

Lifted, bright red fruit, strawberry bubblegum nose. Thankfully this is not as sweet in the mouth. Red fruited with cherry and strawberry, a little cinnamon spice and some cherry skin tannin. A touch more intense than I would prefer but still a nice, pure expression of grenache. (my 3rd, group's 4th)

100% Monastrell. Black olive, black fruit nose, nice and savory. Black plum, earth, black olive, light oak, licorice. Dark and brooding but balanced and delicious. Great value. (my 1st, group's 3rd)

Darker in color than most 10-year old tawnies. It drinks like a tawny though with dried cherries, nuttiness and a bit of leather. Only nit is some heat peeking through, but that may fade with more time open. Very nice.
