Duften har toner af, røde bær, modne kirsebær, lidt røde/sorte brombær, lidt læder, lidt vanilje, tørret røde blomster, lidt ristet træ toner fra fadet, grønne krydderurter, sødlig tobak toner, lidt salt lakrids, en lille tone af mentol.

Smagen fyldig og frugtrig af duften, der er en hvis saftighed over smagen. Blandet røde bær med nogle krydret toner, anis, urter, eg, lidt læder. Smagen er tør. Syren er medium og renser lidt.
Gode faste og tilgængelige tanniner af, sort te, kernebitterhed, lakrids, sorte oliven.
GRAPE: 85% Sangiovese, 8% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Der er lidt uenighed om drue procenterne og nogle nævner :90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot.

Dark ruby colour. Red fruit, cherry, coffee, some tobacco, spices, vanilla and liquorice. Medium-bodied, with good, lively acidity, ripe tannin and good length. Average concentration and complexity. I had always thought that this wine was going to be at its best upon release when it was fruity and fleshy. Time has not changed my mind. For a wine this rich to leave no sediment means the serious filtration is only one of the reasons this is aging into dullness. It is drinkable but the flavors are muddled around a spine of acid.

Rigtig fin vin og rigtig god til prisen. Dejlig åben næse med blå blommer, mørke kirsebær og dernæst chokolade, mørk ristet kaffe og lidt sød bourbonvanille. I munden er vinen god og fyldig med en god rank syre og fortsat pæne tanniner. Lidt umoden mørk frugt og en mellemlang, lettere syrerig eftersmag. Der er masser af liv i denne vin endnu +5 år. Deep, saturated garnet with just the slightest fading to pink at the rim. P&P. Started to pen up after about 30 minutes. Blue fruits, flowers (violets and roses), some smoke or tar, hint of vanilla on the nose. Palate features tart cherry, strawberry, and underbrush lifted by bright acidity. Foregrounds the earthy acidity of Sangiovese with the velvety fruit or Merlot. Clearly has room to develop. May rise in score. (3086 views)

This IGT from Central Tuscany is predominantly Sangiovese, with some Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is dark ruby in color, with some purple hues. The nose, is clean, with bright, tart cherry, blackberry and some sweet baking spice. The palate is dry, with medium (+) acidity, tannins and alcohol. This is a very nice and well made wine, which is still a little bit too young. It should round out and open up nicely in a couple of more years. (3386 views)

Anniversary dinner at Casa Tua. I find myself ordering this wine given the value it represents. Fruit forward with raspberry liqueur, a touch of white peppers, some flowers. Palate is tannic but evolves in the glass (a sign of a well made wine) and provides a good balance between acid and fruit. 2014 Italian Wine Tasting Event (Allesia's Ristorante Italiano - Mesa, AZ): I was told Suckling gave this a 95! Ooops! Where did that come from? Yes, definitely speaks Super Tuscan. Just because it is representative, doesn't make it a best in class wine. This is fruit-forward with good structure and decent balance. Will age well and improve in a 3-5 year time frame. Black cherry, dark chocolate, a bit thin, but a good finish... all the components of a solid Super Tuscan. This tasting showed the retail at $32/btl. Decent QPR, but would have been more appropriate in the high $20 range. (3072 views)
