Nose of green apple and apricot. The clean palate is a little sweet, with fresh fruit & citrus. A bit short of acid up front, but ample on the finish. Seems a bit simpler than some competing wines from the same vineyard. Not worth US$22. (1614 views)

Brought this to a nice Thai byob and found that it complimented the food very well, including a spicy shrimp dish and an orange liquer sauced cornish hen. That said, I disagree with other tasters who have rated this wine higher. This may be due to my lack of extensive experience with German wines or the restaurant's inability to produce an ice bucket which I found hard to believe for a Philly based byob, the home of great and many byob's, due to the PA's outdated and expensive licensing costs (may they always remain in place). Drunk warm, I found the wine to be very sweet (pineapple flavors) for a Kabinett and lacking any acidity or minerality that I anticipated. A nice wine with the food, but one dimensional. Maybe, as suggested by others, time and/or chilling would curb the sweetness and bring out the true Mosel character. (1451 views)

A very tasty Kabinett. White peach, red apple, and a touch of minearlity on the nose. The only moderately sweet palate shows a great acidic core. Enjoyable now and will certainly develop: I had the bottle open five days in the fridge. (1374 views)

I had re-corked this after our holiday wine tasting on Dec. 22nd and forgotten about it. Found it tonight and gave it a shot, WOW!

The wine lost some of it's baby fat and shows some serious verve. Pear, Macintosh, and a hint of slate. Finishes with a nice tartness of super ripe apple. Great acidic cut, the best Kerpen I have had. I agree with the other note that chilled this seems to strut it's stuff a bit more. This is a great value and a must buy of the '04 Kabs. (2158 views)

Crisp and clean nose of granny smith apples, pineapple and rainwater. Expansive ripe tropical fruit on the attack, tempered by a healthy dose of acidity. A delightful Kabinett that could last for several more years. Unfortunately, this was my only bottle. Paired very well with grilled pork tenderloin topped with a pineapple-cilantro- yellow bell pepper salsa. (2910 views)

Powerful first impression for the predicate, with bright apple and citrus fruit. Tingling salinity and a chalky texture balance the wine's light sweetness. Finishes clean and dry. This is more energetic and fun at cold temperatures. It loses the zing and seems sweeter as it warms up. (1946 views)

I opened 4 bad bottles and finally got one kicking with some life left in it tonight. Color was light pee color. Nose was very light and floral white flowers. Palate was thin with very little acidity. White peach, summer green grapes. This would have been a hit in the summer on the beach... (2322 views)
