Re opening and comparing to prior tasting.

Nose: Seductive and raw aromas. Imagine a hot summer day. It's summer break. But you mean business. sweet cream boiling on stove top, bouquet of flowers, camp fire of oak. the spiced notes from prior have taken a step back almost absent. noticeably more bell pepper vs grape vine. Why does this remind me of mayacamas.

Taste: BASS heavy. remember that talking fish? heavier than that. deep. deeper. deepest. deep. leather vs cassis. maybe both. Drinking alone fatigues the pallate (heating beef as I type this).

I may have liked it more during my last opening. We'll see after the beef. I'm hoping that interesting complexity I had prior will resurface. Maybe its an awkward teen phase. (288 views)

This is very smooth now. Lots of fruit, most tannins have disappeared. The wine is actually quite versatile now and goes with a wide variety of foods. Enjoyed with a roast lamb tonight and it was lovely, but unlike many syrah/shiraz it did not overwhelm the lamb.

PnP. Dark red color with purple elements. Deep, dark fruit on the nose. A little sryah like. Oak is present and integrated on the palate, which also has cigarette and cocoa flavors. Awesome texture and medium depth/finish. Nice value! (271 views)

Picked a couple of these up at Costco. I've been to the winery before and had fond memories of the visit. This is good value, with deep and enticing fruit that feels young and expressive. Will benefit from more time, but already quite rich and satisfying. (1101 views)
