Bought two bottles based on Robert Parker and local wine consultant. Okay for $15 bottle of wine but was expecting more based on the rave reviews. Seemed very young ... maybe a year more in the bottle will bring out some of the characteristics. The wine looks Crimson colored. The legs are Medium. The body is Medium. The wine has Smooth texture. These layers include earthy, floral, bitter and spicy notes that you don’t find in many wines this price ($8). Certainly still a big wine but with the structure to manage it. The color is ruby and deeply hued but translucent. The aromas are blackberry and strawberry, vanilla, red licorice, and tary earthy smells. The taste is remarkable for the price. The tastes are blackberry, cherry, tar, spice, tea, and licorice. The wine is light bodied with dusty tannins, and nice acidity. There is some heat on the shortish finish. Very nice middle of the road Garnacha compared to the previews reviews. Solid, Pours a deep garnet with a somewhat spicy, peppery nose. I get some fruit on the palate notes of raspberries, cherry some tannins in the long smooth finish. Solid. Spicy red wine style. Would buy again for 7$. This is a good QPR, but Parker went overboard with his praise. The notes: Nose is pleasant, albeit not very expressive. Taste ok on PNP, but much better after 10-15 minutes. Medium-bodied. Red fruits dominate, mostly cranberries and raspberries. Short finish. I paired it with pizza and I liked it. On my last sip, which was close to one hour after pour, I started to sense a bit of heat on the back end. Overall, if you like affordable Cotes du Rhone wines, then you will likely enjoy this. Personally, I am glad I only bought one bottle to try...it was tempting to buy a case at this price. In the end, this wine didn't "wow" me, and I am sure the WA rating had an effect on my impression. Definite middle of the road Garnacha compared to the previews reviews. Solid, but not inyourface. But no wimp either. Pours a deep garnet with a somewhat spicy, peppery nose. I get sweetess of fruit on the palate (raspberries and cherry liqeur in a dark, mysterious way), a full bodied mouthfeel and then some tannins in the long smooth finish. Solid. Held up nicely to a spicy black bean espress chili. Earthy and spicy red wine style. 04/26 Last bottle of wine from Total wine in charleston, so sad. Slightly more tannic than I remember. Some heat on the finish with good acidity throughout. Bigger tasting than I remember, but a solid example of this style and still completely enjoyable. One reviewer described the taste as loamy soil- may be why I am partial to this bottle. 85% Grenache (called Garnacha in Spain) and 15% Tempranillo that is fermented and aged in stainless steel.
