For good or for ill, the aromas of Sauvignon Blanc include cat pee. This wine definitely has that, at least when it warms up after a while. I wonder if, though a 2012 vintage, it's nearing the end of its drinking window too. Try to keep the bottle chilled while you're drinking a glass. The aroma is also grassy, with a minerality to the nosefeel. The flavour is citrusy and with strong acidity but with a really gross midpalate and aftertaste. Drink up; I recommend within three months. $12 for a half bottle. Overall value: 2 stars of 5. Overall impression: average. (1677 views)

Decent nose, flowers, little bit of pear. Lemon and lime flavors on the palate, very citrusy and highly acidic -almost too much, a bit of a sparkling characteristic. Soso finish with a lingering rubbing alcohol note.

kind of seashell nose. huge, nutlike, tropical, sweet finish. seems to be missing grassy quality, typical in california vs new zealand. if you did not know it was s.b. you might assume a good viogner. 88 score and neutral is for lack of s.b. character. this would seem to match well with very flavorful fish. Once you get past the tacky plastic cork (Stelvin closures are just better), this is always a tasty Sauv. Blanc. Slight tint of green with light legs in the glass. Copious honeydew melon and peach flavors with hints of lemon zest in the finish. The vineyard scene that shows through the bottle adds to the experience. - Light gold color - Lemon peel and cut green grass on the nose. Taste follows suit, with lemon, grapefruit coming thru first. Once the tartness wears off - a good dose of passion fruit and kiwi stays on in this medium finish. Good counter balance to fish curry and rice ( think spices from India, Thailand etc.). Over numerous vintages, Honig has produced many high-quality wines from this grape. 2012 is no exception. Pale yellow in color, it has a nose and palate of gala apples, citrus peel, white peaches and honeysuckle. The wine is light-bodied and fresh, with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 13.5%) and a solid middle. It concludes with a medium-to-long, crisp finish. This is an excellent "go to" wine to be served as an apéritif or with light fare. Drink now-2014. (2144 views)

This bottling is what Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc should epitomize. Light, almost limpid straw with aromas of melon, lemon blossom, Meyer lemon, white stonefruit, minerals, and wisps of grass. It offers a fresh, crisp, zingy palate, refreshing acidity, excellent tension, and grapefruit pith on the extended finish. Honig's offerings rarely disappoint and this frisky example is no exception.
