Belle texture, indeniablement, c‘est élégant, arrondi, soyeux, très Beaune séduisant et raffiné·
Néanmoins je m’ennuie rapidement car la gamme aromatique fanée, sur les epices et le sous-bois, sueur de cheval, manque cruellement de fraicheur, de fruit, de vie. Il est tombé dans le tertiaire/automnal sans garder ni griotte ni cerise, perdant en gourmandise et en charme: en fait il ne pinote guère plus, frustrant !
Bouteille fatiguée? Possible. En tout cas je ne le vois pas aller jusqu’en 2030 … (254 views)

Slow ox’ed for 45 min. Very pale yellow. Initially aromatically rather muted but improves a bit with more air. Nice but fairy simple nose with white and yellow fruit and nicely integrated sweet oak notes, similar showing on the palate which is fairy sweet but balanced by nice acidity. Medium + finish, again dominated by sweet wood spices.
What this wine lacks is delineation and clarity, and hence a bit disappointed especially since this is 2014. Solid but nowhere near a recent (case of the) 2016 Meursault Perrieres which was superb despite the so-so vintage. 89-90 (44 views)

Lovely 14 yo burgundy. It’s a discrete player.
Dark ruby, earthy, mineral nose with sweet, dark berries and clean, clay-like minerality.
With some air it attacks the palate with dense, dark and cool fruit. There is a pronounced minerality and sweet-ish tannins.
A really well structured wine in a really good place. (34 views)

April BYO (Bodø, Norway): The wine is dark yellow and looks unfiltered. The nose surprises and must be said to be seductive with coffee grounds, tea leaves, and something oxidative. On the palate, there is ripe citrus and the wine still has a somewhat oily oak taste. A simple wine that has withstood the test of time surprisingly well. (65 views)

Shockingly good for a 30 year old Beaune 1st Cru. 100% ready and the 1993 vintage has helped this wine hold at an amazing level. A Wow wine now and testament to this great terroir- Beaune Greves. Outstanding. (23 views)

Drank over 5 hrs, nice red fruit with earthy notes on the nose, the palate has some red and dark fruit with some sous bois, along with vosne spice, over a couple hours I got some rhubard on the palate, it finshes nicely but no very long. This feels like it lacks some of the concentration and depth of other vintages but is still enjoyable now. (32 views)

I think these are getting sweeter? Just a couple bottles left from a case, and we are getting farther away from Perrieres, and closer to Aubert? Kind of kidding, but kind of not. Maybe it's all that energy charged OR Chard I've been drinkin of late. Anyway...this is still top notch Meursault here! Sappy orchard fruits, with a drizzle of honey and sprinkled sea salt...SUCH pretty lime/white flower blossom florals...chalky crushed limestone...little more toasted marshmallow...precise and beaming with fresh juiced citrus...dry extract...very broad and mouth filling...even a little oily viscosity. I mean this wine is LOADED with flavor and Meursault-ness...I just wish it had a tad bit more Perrieres and less sweetness...but nitpicking I guess. Would love to try this one in 20 more years!
