Fast legged, medium bodied. Apple and earth on the nose. Hits early on both tip and back of palette, blending inwards towards the middle in short time. Taste is strong on apple and pear, with hints of oak and earth. Not bad, especially for the cost. Short finish, typical cheap Chardonnay. (2141 views)

I would give this bottle the median score. While a little behind the suggested drinking range, we still enjoyed it with dinner. The tannins have certainly given way their grip, leaving a soft and subtle fruit presence from start to finish. I would say this '08 is nearing the end of my personal preference cycle for a cab. Making a batch of homemade spaghetti sauce and decided to use this instead of sacrificing a nice bottle of something else. After reading some of the reviews, decided to pour through the vinturi AND decant for 1 hour. Saved a glass to taste before sending the rest into the pot. It wasn't as bad as everyone says. Since it had time to air out, there weren't any "rubber" scents or funk that I detected. It was just unremarkable. In the glass: Super deep magenta, pink edge, ok legs. On the nose: indistinct but light fruit, nothing remarkable. In the mouth: Medium/light mouth feel. light sweet on the tongue, decent tannin grip with light dry slightly tart finish. Not horrible, just not great. Be sure to let it breathe. Retail $3. (3676 views)

Ruby color - lighter than most cabs.
Nose of burnt rubber and...well...burnt rubber.
Sweet red cherries on the front end mellowing into a crab apple/menthol theme. Long finish, tannins are fairly low.

Sugars a little high.

Not very complex, but I didn't expect much at this price point. Quaffable as an every day drinker with some spaghetti or something nondescript. Wouldn't even attempt a steak. (3379 views)
