Lemon zest and cantaloupe on the nose, pale copper color in the glass. Palate somewhat follows nose, some graphite on the finish. Light body, a little zesty acidity but less than I expected.

Had with fish pie (shrimp, cod, salmon, green beans, leaks, clam juice, chicken broth, tarragon, parsley), bread and salad of arugula, mandarin oranges, pomegranate seeds, toasted pecans and cranberries in a balsamic vinaigrette.

Acidity in the wine comes forward a bit with the food. Pear notes get added to the palate. The wine goes better with the salad than the fish pie. It would go better with the fish if it were more crisp. As it is, this wine is a tad too sweet. Though I’ll say that the sweetness isn’t particularly up front on its own.

Score reflects my status as ‘not a white wine drinker’ though I appreciate how drinkable this Pinot Grigio was. It does have good potential with foods which exhibit a necessary sweetness. (160 views)

I have tried a few of the armani pinot grigois. I dont think this was any better or worse thst the others, bit the bitterness on the finish may not appeal to everyone. For example my wife did not like it.

Tried with musssls shrimp and scallops. In the end everyone preferred the $10 bottle of oyster bay NZ SB. So would not buy again at the $20 price point (relative poor QPR vs the more crowd pleasing NZ sav blancs and the other $12 abino pinot grigio offerings at total wine..

Thaf beimg said this was my first "orange" wine and will try my 2nd bottle in 2024 try again in a different setting dor a 2nd data point. (239 views)

This is a blend with notes of ripe red berries, mild on the nose and the palate. An easy drink, but classified as a good table wine. Absent are the traditional earthy notes and complexities of an Italian wine. 88. (323 views)

Very light straw yellow colour with a hint of green. Herbs and flowers with a hint of bread on the nose. Taste of herbs with hints of citrus, apples and plums. Light pearly. Great as an aperitif. (114 views)

Pale cloudy lemon colour. Medium nose of gooseberry, yellow apples, white flowers, yeast and flint. Medium taste of green apples, gooseberries and flint. Long and dry finish. Medium (+) acidity. Medium body. A very different but interesting Prosecco that goes best with food. Goes well with cured meat and mushrooms. (32 views)
