Decanted for 1 hour prior to drinking. Brick red. Tannins have rounded out. Nose earthy, campfire. Medium body, moderately expressive with a long finish. Palate demonstrates flavors of dried cherry, dill/herrbs, and something sweet/dry like raisins at the end. Very enjoyable, even if it is a bit past its prime. (39 views)

Le bouchon est assez collé dans le goulot et part en miettes. Cela commence bien cette affaire ! Heureusement, rien qui ne se résolve avec une bonne passette !

La robe est profonde avec un joli dégradé.
Aromatique sur la truffe, les fruits compotés, le sous-bois, le cuir. C'est superbe et elle ne fera que gagner en complexité et en intensité pendant le repas.
La richesse du millésime 59 est toujours bien présente en bouche : volume, volupté, densité, texture de velours le tout avec une précision parfaite. Difficile de demander plus !
Belle finale qui sans être kilométrique appelle immédiatement le verre suivant ! (111 views)

So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: Opened about 6 hours before dinner and tasted. Cork was fully saturated, and gross on top. The wine had a bit of a funk smell at first, that the slow ox with a loose cork helped. Fully integrated tannins, subtle red fruit. Good, and most people really enjoyed it. But time to drink if you still have this, I’m sure it was more lively in its past. (229 views)

Tasted double blind from a small capped bottle as part of a zoom tasting. Clearly BDX - mature and pretty. Rich and spicy. Do I get some charcoal? Dark black cherry and cassis fruit. Has a nice
Graham cracker sweetness. A bit of herbal. Seems to dry out quickly. Great balance on the palate. That hint of sweetness is a bit of strawberry with some acid and fine tannins in the back. Really pure and translucent with nice red tones. Spicy at the end. High acid and crisp finish. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16.5-17/20. (570 views)

First of four bottles purchased at auction.
Med-top shoulder fill.
One third of cork is dried out and has turned black.
Not decanted.
Unusually deep color for an older Bordeaux wine. One of the 2-3 deepest I have ever seen. Good clarity.
Interesting evolved nose. Little to nothing in the fruit department, Cedary notes. A strange singed cotton candy note. Heavy earthy notes/decaying forest floor. A very slight pickled note.
The texture is surprisingly light, in contrast to the nose. For the vintage, it clearly lacks depth and structure. Not much noticeable tannin, but what's there is drying note.
Right call not to decant.
Medium length finishing on cedary notes.
A slight disappointment given he pedigree and vintage but still enjoyable with dinner.

Tasted this at a Bacchus semi blind tasting and managed to identify it. Deep colour with pronounced brick rim. Wonderful nose of menthol, black fruits, some vegetal notes with some fresh mint too. The palate is equally delightful with concentrated flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant, plum, cedary and spicy notes and warmth on the finish. Absolutely brilliant. (849 views)

Dark ruby red, some signs of evolution opened magnums and left to aerate for 4 hours. Nose of dark red berries, plums, some iron, game, cassis. Quite delightful; subtle, mature, ripe, red-fruited; whiff of fresh strawberry punnet and pomegranate on the nose, with an overlay of morello richness and lurking decay. On the palate it is resolved, laid back; quietly classy, nuanced, gentle, low key, light touch, old school. It is not especially complex but you do not always want the distraction of a magical mystery tour. This and the 2004 are in the sweet spot. (1234 views)

This wine (from Bern’s) had a low shoulder fill. It had a red center and orange rims. The nose was dusty and reserved at first but developed into a medium intensity nose of plum, anise, currants, and minerals.

In the mouth, this wine was medium bodied with nice balance, light tannin, and good length.

While this wine was solid, the flavors were not particularly complex. Drink up. (394 views)

A little reticent at first, eventually opened up with notes of dark cherry and blackberry, transitioning to oak with some leather and tar notes. Still had significant tannic grip. 12.5% ABV. Not sure where this is going. Tannins suggested it still has plenty of time, but the fruit seemed to be fading. (483 views)
