Nose is very high toned maybe a little VA, roses, sweet tobacco notes Palate is smooth, silky and this tastes like a much older wine with tobacco and secondary flavors. Very little fruit. Surprising. Darker-than-ruby red, medium sediment (mostly clung to the bottle), decanted. After 30 minutes, lots of fruit, soft tannins, spiciness is there but slightly muted, making for a rather smooth tasting Syrah.
