2020 Familia Zuccardi Malbec Polígonos Vinos de Pueblo San Pablo (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco) 4/18/2024tanguero892

This was the only wine I purchased at a "movable Malbec tasting festival" in Buenos Aires, after tasting probably over 20 Malbecs (out of over 100 on offer). The reason is, ironically, that is was the "least Malbec" of them all! As the sommelier of the winery explained, and the tasting bore his out, it had light floral notes, almost approach a Burgundy in characteristics compared to a typical Malbec (and indeed it was!), which he attributed entirely to the particular soil characteristics of the vineyard. Aging in cement tanks (no oak). 13.5% alcohol is also a little lower than a typical Malbec from Mendoza. (22 views)

2021 Familia Zuccardi Chardonnay Fósil (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco) 4/18/2024SirFred94

Pale colored with a touch of oak, stone fruits, guava, citrus, and a hint of spice. Very fresh and quite saline, though very dry and mouth-watering at present with some bitter minerality. You could easily mistake this as being from Chablis, though the acidity and minerality makes you think of Phalz or Nahe. . Still young, but impressive. Best vintage I’ve had from here. Should continue to develop and drink well for a decade or more. (108 views)

2021 Familia Zuccardi Sémillon Polígonos del Valle de uco Tupungato (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco, Tupungato) 4/14/2024RKcellar90

I don't think people understand this wine. Concentrated, tropical fruit. lots of verve and acidity. if I was blinded, my first guess would be chenin blanc (39 views)

2020 Familia Zuccardi Cabernet Franc Polígonos del Valle de uco Paraje Altamira (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco) 4/8/2024vlzat90

Full body, deep crimson to purple colour, 14% abv. Impressive but elegant red fruits' forward aroma, tobacco, flowers and spices box. Plum and black cherry palate, wild berries' acidity, young but silky tannins and juicy finish of good length. Rather rich and concentrated than complex but well balanced and very enjoyable. Food friendly, well pairing to beef paella. Serve 16ºC - 18ºC. Open half an hour ahead. Drink now while young and the next 6/8 years. (60 views)

2018 Familia Zuccardi Aluvional Paraje Altamira (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco, Altamira) 4/6/2024Odedis.Wine.reviews90

Deep purple in color with a short purplish rim.

Full-bodied with medium acidity.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing blackberries, blueberries, black plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, herbs, light vegetables and peppercorn.

Medium finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 6-year-old Malbec from Mendoza is still young, and a little harsh. I had it before and this time I let it open for a whole day.

Tangy and rich. Very extracted and a little unbalanced.

Wine Advocate 97 points.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$90. (133 views)

2021 Familia Zuccardi Malbec Concreto (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco, Altamira) 3/31/2024DesMarteau

hard to rate this young....definitely a well made wine. Black ink, traditional malbec characteristics....subtle blue fruit that is a bit shut down, seawater, cassis, tannins....give 10 years (359 views)

2018 Familia Zuccardi Aluvional Paraje Altamira (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco, Altamira) 3/25/2024jkvedar92

Popped and poured. A great example of vineyard-specific Malbec from high altitude. Almost reminds me of Syrah. Floral nose with some rocky elements. Medium bodied with medium acidity and dusty, medium tannins. Long finish. Will pair well with most fare. (158 views)

2021 Familia Zuccardi Malbec Concreto (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco, Altamira) 3/23/2024AllRed90

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (J&L's): Double blind. Deep inky opaque color. Opens with a dominant meaty note with blackberry, pepper and blueberry underneath. Full-bodied, firm and tannic, with black fruit and spice flavors. There's a subtle plastic/chemical note in there too, but it's not enough to be a distraction. (R&S) (476 views)

2021 Familia Zuccardi Malbec Concreto (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco, Altamira) 3/23/2024Cabfrancophile89

Reductive aromas at first, a bit of funkiness, herbs and berries emerge with air. Medium-full bodied on the palate, round mid-palate, quite extracted in a silky way with soft tannins on the mid-palate. Black fruit and floral inner aromas, slate-y texture/impression. Finish is OK, again very soft tannins, medium acidity, no oak.

Seems like a wine to drink young, though the integrated structure is probably sneaky in terms of longevity. Still, the forward profile seems like one best enjoyed near term. Like the style here, though not as wild or edgy as I'd hoped for. (372 views)

N.V. Familia Zuccardi Malbec Malamado (Argentina, Mendoza, Maipú) 3/23/2024PeterGaylor88

Port style (fortified) but definitely not port. Malbec with a wine spirit, that is as good, if not better, than the style associated with the port on the Douro river. Dark red, long syrupy legs, loads of sugar. On the nose, you get the brandy punch, but in a pleasant way. In the mouth it really is up there with the top end Ports. A great end to the meal with a hot chocolate dessert, and after on its own. Love it. (44 views)

Do not expect a Spanish style Tempranillo - this is very new world but a bit one dimensional in flavour and lacked the structure (62 views)

2018 Familia Zuccardi Chardonnay Fósil (Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco) 3/20/2024SussexSB93

Totally get why Parker gives this 95 points. Steely, lithe, linear, flinty, forward in mouth. Excellent clobber. So much better 3 yrs on since last bottle. Lovely samphire hue coming through the Spiegelau Definition (not a Zalto as weekday) and long long finish. Currently $60/£45 a bottle. I’d top up at this price. Def up there for one of Argie’s best 100% chards. No rush. Further uptick likely. Bravo. (42 views)

Three years on the lees, and hand riddled. Also with a little candied fruit, and then some toast and brioche notes to it. Has some gumption at $22.99 or so. (305 views)
