2016 Georges Lignier et Fils Clos St. Denis (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos St. Denis Grand Cru) 4/25/2024831900_92

Floral and lithe on the nose. Super clear strawberry through the mouth and finish. Too much of a sweet, candied, acidic sensation through the finish for me. Vineyard typicity, to the extent I can speak for it, seems quite real. (148 views)

2018 Georges Lignier et Fils Clos de la Roche (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru) 4/6/2024831900_94

Really good. Not quite detailed, not quite powerful, almost gentle and relaxed. Lighter red fruit on the nose, blue and red fruit in the mouth, medium length finish with some gentle heat. (144 views)

2022 Georges Lignier et Fils Clos St. Denis (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos St. Denis Grand Cru) 4/1/2024Collector185593

During the Grands Jour de Bourgogne walkabout tasting. The Georges Lignier wines, made by current generation family member Benoit Stehly are always lighter and more tannic wines that need time. Make sure you don't open them too early. The 2022 showed today were also in this style with blue and red fruit, some stems and structure in need of bottle time. Do not open before 2030. I usually find their Clos St.Denis the most interesting wine, also today but it was really tannic and youthful, best after 2035. 92-94 (267 views)

Overall similar to my previous experience with this Nice and inviting nose with several layers, notes of forest moss, ripe fruit and fine minerality. Light on the fruit side, but with fine notes of cherry and other red berries. Beautiful minerality and balanced acidity. Long finish. 92+ P (178 views)

2009 Georges Lignier et Fils Clos St. Denis (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos St. Denis Grand Cru) 3/8/2024RN85

Pale and browning-attractive nose. Palate is Very distinctive old school style of whole bunch. Dried out. Appealing in a sense with the right food match. Hard work Otherwise. Certainly not GC standard. A village wine from a good producer is far more enjoyable for every day drinking (128 views)

2001 Georges Lignier et Fils Clos de la Roche (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru) 3/5/2024etyc

A 2nd-extra btl brought by an extremely generous friend. We kind of knew it was a G. Lignier (as it was mentioned before) but didn't know the plot & vintage. This definitely had more substance than the prior '14 CdlR, but also exhibited some rusticity & rough edges. An imaginary blend of the '14 & this '01 would probably hit the sweet-spot! (202 views)

2014 Georges Lignier et Fils Clos de la Roche (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru) 3/5/2024etyc

Blinded. Pale-red, with bricking at the rims. Dried leaves, cherries, tea on the nose. Palate felt (overly) soft, with not much fruit/weight. Seemed like the acid will outlast the fruit. Overall still a nice wine to drink (now), but I wouldn't keep this for long... (167 views)

1985 Georges Lignier et Fils Clos St. Denis (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos St. Denis Grand Cru) 2/28/2024Burgundy AlFLAW

Acker "Paulee" Burgundy Dinner (Capital Seafood - Beverly Hills CA): An old, tired wine. Too bad - perfect color and fill, but with an odd story. I had flown with this bottle today, and when I removed the capsule, there was no cork to be found. I am assuming the flight’s air pressure caused the cork to fall in, but there was no leakage. The wine should have been good with that strange story. (291 views)
