2009 Les Forts de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac) 5/6/2024Purple Tooth94

This is so rich and delicious. I remember tasting this around 2013 and thought to myself, nah…this is too Californiaesque…that was true. But tasing this a decade later it seems that this wine never quit. It just evolved and maintained its rich fruit and developed some charcoaled complexity. Really a lush and powerful example of the fruity side of Bordeaux with latour pedigree and power. This is ready with no danger of dimming anytime soon. Drink or hold (19 views)

2013 Les Forts de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac) 5/3/2024JChan89

Drank a half bt with ee, dark fruits but a little bit light bodied, with hints of vanilla, simple structure but smooth. Easy drinking but not a big wine, imo Lynch Bages 2013 is rather better than this, not to mention the price. (31 views)

92-94 Punkte.

HWS Bordeaux 2009 vs 2010 (By me): WOW, what a wine! Complex and intriguing bouquet with a lot of dark berries, graphite and beautifully dosed oak. Same on the palate, concentrated and powerful, savory and animals, firm acidity and tannin and a great length. Already great complexity and finesse but that will continue to develop for the better over the next 10+ years. Truly a very great wine! 95 - 96 (456 views)

certainly mature and with a distinct sweetness, this shows the heat of the year and really is not to my taste although clearly well made (113 views)

2000 Les Forts de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac) 4/14/2024O'Meara

Decanted for two hours before enjoying with dinner. Tell-tale Latour scents of almonds, mint, green tobacco, and of course, cassis. This has plenty of energy to continue to evolve for a decade, but it’s wonderful now. Expressive and integrated with fruit that is still fresh. Drink or hold. (310 views)

Lacked some elegance and a slightly hot finish, but otherwise very enjoyable. Nice tertiary notes, plenty of chocolate & tobacco. (150 views)

2000 Les Forts de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac) 4/11/2024jmoon91

Couldn’t get much depth in the two hours we enjoyed this wine - just nice aged fully mature pauillac - basic , good but with no complexity or spirit . Maybe needed a loooong decant (399 views)

2004 Les Forts de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac) 3/23/2024Eric

2004 Bordeaux at 20 years courtesy of Mark Taylor; 3/23/2024-3/24/2024 (Atlanta, GA): Scorchy, also some bretty/earthy stuff going on, cedar, wow very pleasing, round, balanced, very pretty, very complete, really in sync. My #4 and the group #1. Guessed incorrectly as Malescot. (630 views)

1982 Les Forts de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac) 3/23/2024Somm David T95

Still fresh & youthful. Perfect. Great fill. Still peaking.

Bramble, nicely, fresh fruits of; blackberries, creamy, black raspberries, black plum, plum, dark cherries, hints of blueberries, poached to dry strawberries. Lead pencil for days, dry tobacco, used leather, liquid herbaceous notes, volcanic & limestone marl & grey clay, eucalyptus/pine tar, black licorice, dark spice, touch of black pepper, mushroom, light baking spices, dry top soil, dry river stone, dry stem, well done toast, dry & withering; dark, red, some blue florals framed in lavender & violets, perfect acidity and extremely well; balanced, structured, tensioned, balanced, smarty polished finish that last several minutes finish. WOTN!

It’s just the left side of the bell curve. Stored correctly it has another 10 plus years of good drinking.

Robert Parker launched his career calling this vintage correctly upon release when others were not. (216 views)

Outstanding wine! Definitely at its peak now. Vivacious. Bold. Silky. With mellowed tannins and blackberry and dark fruit nose. Didn’t decant much. (117 views)

2012 Les Forts de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac) 2/28/2024dhwesley92

No sediment, dark red out of the bottle, no color change at the rim. Nose is reasonably open; pencil shavings, wet leaves, mushrooms, bit of smoke. Fruit first (though surprisingly somewhat secondary) bit of acid, few tannins. Nice length. So far so good.

After a few hours it's drinking quite well. It feels evolved but pleasant, with nothing really sticking out. The salient feature is a port-like richness. I would not describe it as precise per se, though definitely enjoyable and a rich, well crafted wine with an excellent finish. (222 views)

2012 Les Forts de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac) 2/22/2024Janda_4292

The wine was decanted off its sediment and aired for two hours.

Eye: Dark black center to a light ruby rim.

Nose: Tobacco, booze, curry spice. Licorice. Herbaceous. Dark brambley fruit. Cassis.

Palate: Moderate acidity. Full bodied. Velvety tannins. Cedar, cassis, cherries. Still very herbaceous. Very light touch of soy sauce. Little salt. Cacao nibs. There is a distinct mushroomy-umami note. Light graham cracker

Finish: Long finish. Cherry, cassis, and pomegranate give way to soy, cacao, and sous bois. (212 views)

2017 Les Forts de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac) 1/27/2024WindFlyer93

dark and bluish purple and medium body. bright red and black fruit in the expressive nose, lovingly accented by tobacco, cedar, and cocoa. not quite as expressive in the mouth at the moment, the grippy tannins are a bit dominant. but they do let fresh dark cherry and juicy plum flavours mingle with pepper, spice, and chocolate accents. long persistence that bends to savoury.

elegant and of creamy texture, this will improve. i'd say give it another two plus years. upside rating potential here.
