Lt/med red with a slight tinge of orange on the rim of the glass. Nose of tar and leather, good acidity, takes about 15min to a half hour upon opening to start to taste this wines capabilities to deliver its favour profile. By the second glass this mellows and there is dryness from the tannins intersected by a wave of sweetness, earthyness and flavours of raspberry, slight cherry, some tar , maybe liquorice. Good length. A refreshing wine. A little light in weight on the palate but long in flavour. Very enjoyable (60 views)

Quite dark for being a Barolo. Forest floor on the nose. Despite its age, still some tannins left. Full albeit aftertaste a bit shallow to real top class Barolos. Better on Day 2 which makes me think this could be better in another few years (45 views)

This was an excellent Barolo. A big, dark wine for a La Morra Barolo with a beautiful nose. On the palate, the tannins have resolved but it still seems structuted. Not one sign of old age. Most enjoyable now, and it has many years left. (78 views)

Still a bit tannic, medium body, my initial thought was that it was a bit bland but it seemed to perk up when we drank it with an osso buck rage. (49 views)

Pretty much at its peak the bouquet starts with roses, some underwood, truffles, plums and with time some red fruit.
On the palate the iron grip of the tannins develops with 1-2 hours.

Man oh man! Excellent “classic” Dolcetto. Haven’t had one in a while and if more were as good as this I’d be returning for more often. Great blueberry nose, nice tannin, perfect for a Monday pizza night watching the college football championship. (135 views)
