Decanted 2 hours. This wine has evolved nicely over the past 10 years since my last tasting. Notes of cassis, black raspberry, blueberry, leather and hint of spice. Tannins are soft and well integrated with long finish. (34 views)

For this bottle, the optimum time to drink. Have owned since release; cork release and condition perfect. Nice deep color, with a very slight hint of age. Deep, dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, boysenberries & dark plums with overtones of earthy/dusty notes, mint, cocoa, herbs, spices & oak/vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth texture, plush, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, boysenberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals & vanilla/oak. Lingering finish. At peak. At this point, the wine has mellowed and drinks like an old school cab. A solid core of fruit enveloped by mellow tannins. Far from a star of the vintage but enjoyable. Got better as it sat in the glass which suggests tgis is at peak but can stay there for 3+ years (71 views)

Very ho-hum. Reminded me of a $4/bottle auction purchase Chard I recently opened. Medium body wine and everything about this seemed adulterated (added acidity, cheap oakiness (chips, sawdust?)).

Just a little over a month later and after a 2 to 3 hour decant opened up really nicely. Oak, cassis, and blackberry on the nose. Black cherry, strawberry, and vanilla on the palate. Long leathery finish. Glad I have four more bottles that should get better over the next year or two. (209 views)

JD Friday Wine Group - GA Host (Dinner) (City Club FW - Oak Bar): Tasted blind - thank you CellarTracker for differentiating the wine closure. This one was the screwcap. And compared to the 2012 Odette Reserve and the 2013 Eisele, this one seemed so young. Like not ready. From 750. Host decanted 4-5 hours before serving. It was deep and dark in the glass, and had a very reserved nose. Huge tannins, lots of blue dominant fruit. I would love to compare this one to the cork bottle, and see if the cork has allowed actual development of the wine. I was surprised to hear the age on this one, it just didn't taste like a 16+ year old wine. (98 views)
