Bold, juicy, fruit-driven, well-balanced. Well-integrated tannins and acidity, high alcohol content--more than I prefer. Good mouthfeel and smooth finish. It is not a complex wine but it is enjoyable. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It tastes like blackberry, blueberry, black currant (cassis), oak and vanilla. The body is full. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes long. Shows the 15.2 ABV on the nose initially, but it calms down after an hour of air. Full bodied and viscous, long legs. Tar and burnt embers, blueberry compote, spice. Highly concentrated, ripe, and extracted. It somehow manages to maintain a semblance of balance, with just enough acidity to do the job. Quite nice with cheeseburgers. Enjoyable drink. The pour on this one is a little bit of a goldenrod medium straw color. The nose on this wine is two parts mature yellow fruit, one part citrus, one part buttered toast. And actually really good acidity throughout from start to finish. A little bit of white pepper on the back end. Quite crisp and delicious. As a 2017, this wine has done quite a bit of growing up, but was definitely not past its prime. This was enjoyed with a chicken chili Crock-Pot recipe, and the cilantro and lime with the bean and spices, and I am glad I have another one for sure. What a deal!
