This was really quite rich, attractive and complete. I had a different port from the same producer, which was more pricey but came across as cab-sauv-based and was lacking in power and richness, but this really delivered. 93+pts. (269 views)

Livermore Valley Wine #WinePW: The wine is a blend of 75% Cabernet Franc (sourced from the renown Ghielmetti Vineyard) and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon(sourced from the Home Ranch Vineyard). The Cabernet Franc was raised in neutral French Oak while the Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in new French Oak.

Medium garnet color with enticing black raspberry, black cherry, red plum crushed gravel, dried savory herbs vanilla and a hint of cola aromas. I’ve put this wine against many heavyweights before and this wine always holds its own. This past blind tasting was against Cht. Beychevelle and Cht. Larcis Ducasse of the same vintage. This wine is singing right now, I recommend 2-3 hour decant. (265 views)

Vineyard Character:

100% Lencioni Vineyard. Planted in 2005 on loamy soil. 5.5 acres in a horseshoe shape, part of which is on a fairly steep hillside. Several blocks of two different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon (337 and 191). Vertical Shoot Position (VSP).

Tasting Notes

Almost ripe black plums, Violets, Pomegranate, hint of Root Beer on the nose. Black cherry, vanilla, nutmeg, allspice on the palette. Lighter tannin and elevated acid.
