2005 Château Haut-Maurac (France, Bordeaux, Médoc) 9/25/2015freedomjim91

Excellent wine! I enjoyed this with a filet with blue cheese sauce. Classic Cab-heavy Bordeaux. Drinking really well and as you'd expect of a Haut-Medoc with 10 years aging. Looking back, this was an excellent QPR purchase at $18.99 from WineAccess. (2175 views)

2007 Domaine de la Citadelle Luberon Les Artèmes (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Luberon) 10/14/2015freedomjim91

Still drinking really well!! I opened this to pair with a filet mignon the first night. It went really well as expected: very smooth, classic traits of a Rhone with some age on it. Four days later (yes, 4!), I finished it with baked penne, and it was still quite nice. Great wine. (3148 views)

2007 Domaine La Florane Côtes du Rhone Villages Visan (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhone Villages Visan) 3/14/2012freedomjim

Consistent with others' reviews. This is a nice Rhone wine, with consistent Rhone aromas (barnyard funk, fruit, etc) and taste. I have one bottle left and look forward to it. (1830 views)

2003 Château Talbot (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien) 1/18/2012freedomjim92

Terrific wine. Paired well with beef tenderloin medallions, sauteed vegetables, roasted Yukon gold potatoes and creamy bleu cheese sauce. Red and dark fruits in the nose, very balanced palatte, and smooth St. Julien finish. Wished we had more! (7961 views)

2007 Domaine de la Citadelle Luberon Les Artèmes (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Luberon) 1/17/2012freedomjim91

Solid Rhone wine. Perhaps it is still somewhat young - on first pour, the finish was slightly harsh. Dark fruit and barnyard on the nose, dense fruit on the palatte and some spice to the finish. After 1st and 2nd hours decanting, the edges smoothed out and it was quite pleasant. Another WineAccess success. This was the first bottle opened after 2 years on cellaring. It clearly has several years to go. (3397 views)

2007 Domaine Fontaine du Clos Vacqueyras Château Font Clos (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Vacqueyras) 1/16/2012freedomjim91

Classic Rhone nose and palatte. We popped this bottle after dinner, on its own. This wine demonstrates what is possible from CDP's neighbor appellation. Solid fruit, a slight peppery finish, and an overall smooth product. Having had this wine in cellar for over 2 years, this was the first bottle opened, and it did not disappoint. I will look forward to later bottles, especially with food. (4448 views)

2006 Baron D'Alevin Bourgogne (France, Burgundy, Bourgogne) 4/27/2011freedomjim

Pleasant wine - nothing special but quaffable. Agree with the strange aroma, and slight bitterness or something. Not bad, though. (1074 views)

2000 Australian Domaine Wines Shiraz Sheeraz (Australia, South Australia, Limestone Coast)1/23/2011freedomjim

Solid wine. While nearing its end, it's still quite drinkable for anyone who still has it or comes across it. Hearty Shiraz with classic spicy, even fiesty finish. A pleasure. (1476 views)

2010 Georges Dubœuf Beaujolais Nouveau (France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Beaujolais Nouveau) 11/20/2010freedomjim90

Really good wine. Classic Beaujolais, with the freshness of Nouveau. Flowery, filled with light red fruits and that slight bittery twist that gives a pleasant pucker but is not harsh. Unlike some previous notes, my family and I have had several bottles of this and have not been disappointed by any. I think there may be some bottle and/or lot variation out there. - If this is an indication of the 2010 Beaujolais vintage to come, I think there is much to look forward to. The rating reflects both my description and the excellent QPR when purchased for about $8-10. (2276 views)

2007 Clos du Mont-Olivet Côtes du Rhône Vieilles Vignes Montueil la Levade (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône) 12/28/2010freedomjim90

Classic Rhone ruby color. Intense but medium fruit on the palatte. Slightly jammy texture. Smooth, long finish with a little spice and pepper. This wine is showing very nicely and quite enjoyable. At about $13 on purchase, good QPR. (2926 views)

2007 Bodegas Castaño Monastrell Yecla (Spain, Murcia, Yecla) 12/27/2010freedomjim

Will not give a rating on this yet. A decent wine, it was somewhat harsh. It got better for a little while and then became harsher. Quite fruity, nice color, but the harsh finish was distracting and detracted from its other good qualities. Perhaps my other bottles will be better. (4116 views)

Classic ruby color. Medium body. Nose- red fruits. Palatte- red and some dark fruits, a little spice. Fairly smooth, moderately long finish. Good wine, good qpr. A hit year after year. (3805 views)
