2007 Fattoria Galardi Terra di Lavoro (Italy, Campania, Roccamonfina IGT) 7/24/2020Seth Rosenberg92

Double blind. Dark purple - deep fruit, some oak, tar, licorice. Plush and deep on the palate - dark fruit some black currant and blueberry, earth and tar. I thought that this was Cab based, maybe dark BDX, but looking back it didn't quite fit into that space. 16/20.

Day 2: Excellent nose - dark fruits, a nice sweetness hiding back there - almost a seve, spicy, purple fruits, tar, licorice, a touch of heat, some mint? Good on the palate as well - big, but not heavy - juicy dark fruits, tar, good acid. Smooth and deep and plush but alive. Very classy mouthfeel. Finish is all about dark fruits and the herbal tar thing. Good stuff. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 16/20. (3003 views)
