N.V. Berlucchi Guido Franciacorta Brut '61 (Italy, Lombardia, Franciacorta DOCG) 6/12/2017Champagneinhand88

A ripe but tasty version of a BdB styled sparkler. A very good job done by this wine. It's definitely a warmer climate wine, but could hold its own against most Cremant or NV champagne, but definitely shows its youth and shouldn't be mistaken for vintage champagne. Mostly citrus, and brioche here with a touch of Orchard fruit. Day without any doubts. (1680 views)

N.V. Henri de Villamont Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc de Blancs (France, Burgundy, Crémant de Bourgogne) 7/14/2015Champagneinhand88

fresh and Livy Cremant of Chardonnay that was Livy and mineral laden though the orchard fruit both apple and pear kept this as a wonderful aperitif before a BastilleDay dinner with friends. (4002 views)

N.V. Noyo Creek Bon Vivant (USA, California) 11/22/2014Champagneinhand84

A little sweet for me, but I think this is a decent aperitif wine, as Mrs.CiH really liked this, but not worth the $20 asking price at all. We bought a bottle because of the sweetness, but save your money and buy Mumms Napa, as the Mumms outclassed it, though both lacked mineral components when compared with the Gosset that was being poured. N.V. Henri de Villamont Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc de Blancs (France, Burgundy, Crémant de Bourgogne) 11/24/2011Champagneinhand89

decent fruity bubbles that fade fast and leave you with a citrus based mineral driven white burg. Doesn't really compete with good champagne or good champ blends with more, but the acidity was good to cut through Thanksgiving meal. (3222 views)

N.V. Contadi Castaldi Franciacorta Brut (Italy, Lombardia, Franciacorta DOCG) 11/11/2011Champagneinhand91

Love the new batch (upc no.) of this NV champagne blend. Typical mass of bubbles pile out of the bottle and right away you can smell the green apple, Pippin perhaps. It gradually tones down to show some red and yellow apples on the mouth with strong lime acidity with a mineral back bone. The prices are going up on these as is the quality, but $27US is starting to flirt with some of France's big NV labels like Moet and Cliquot. Not as yeasty as the French, most likely there is little dosing going on here. (2977 views)

2009 Castello Banfi Le Rime Toscana IGT (Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT) 5/27/2011Champagneinhand84

too acidic with some bitterness, otherwise an average pinot grigio. (1833 views)

2006 Henry's Drive Pillar Box White (Australia, South Australia, Limestone Coast, Padthaway) 12/22/2008Champagneinhand88

good acidity and plenty of fruit flavors to choose from. As others have stated, tastes much like a white bordeaux, with the exception of the grapefruit component. good qpr. (2882 views)
