2006 Bouchard Père et Fils Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières Domaine (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru) 3/31/2024salil92

Fully mature, showing just a faint touch of butterscotchy oxidation on the nose, though that clears a bit with air and gives way to an array of other savoury, creamy, and gentle white fruited flavours. Love the palate presence here - it's rich with a faintly buttery/oily texture, hefty in that old school white Burg style, but still carried by good acidity that adds nice freshness to the fruit. I think I liked this more than Ken, but agree that it's definitely time to drink up. (219 views)

2018 Domaine de Montille Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly Blanc (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru) 2/2/2024salil91

Albany Tastevin dinner: Not quite on the level of the brilliant '20 that I had recently, but this is still very good with a lot of ripe citrus and pear fruit framed by light butterscotch, toast, floral, and stony mineral accents. It's rather ripe and a touch lower in acidity than the '20 was, but the overall balance is excellent. (837 views)

2020 Domaine Henri Boillot Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru) 2/2/2024salil89

Albany Tastevin dinner: Good if a touch underwhelming - this felt a bit tight and closed aromatically, with the fruit somewhat muted and oaky and faintly reductive notes dominating the aromatics. The fruit comes through a bit more on the palate, but it feels a bit lean and doesn't have the finesse or breadth I've come to expect from Boillot lately. (406 views)

2014 Jean-Philippe Fichet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru) 2/2/2024salil92

Albany Tastevin dinner: First time trying this producer and I should definitely explore more. This is excellent. Brightly fruited with lightly smoky and toasty accents around the fruit, and a saline and chalky mineral base beneath. Love the acidity and balance here. Good stuff. (360 views)

2016 Domaine Heitz-Lochardet Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru) 2/2/2024salil93

Albany Tastevin dinner: A very good showing. Needed some time to get going but after an hour of air showed lovely rich fruit, florality, faint toasty and roasted hazelnut notes on the nose, and a saline mineral element on the back end. Impressive power and richness here. (473 views)

2015 Samuel Billaud Chablis 1er Cru Séchet Vieilles Vignes (France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru) 2/2/2024salil89

Albany Tastevin dinner: Not especially complex, but very bright, refreshing, and classic Chablis with lots of tart citrus fruit over an intensely chalky mineral base. Love the acidity and sense of lightness here. (298 views)

2020 Domaine Balland Curtet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Sous le Puits (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru) 2/2/2024salil80

Albany Tastevin dinner: Somewhat tinny and metallic, there's a nice citrus and pear fruit beneath but the metallic and reductive notes here are distracting and it also finishes rather lean. Eh. (290 views)

N.V. Jacques Selosse Initial (France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru) 1/5/2024salil92

Champagne and claret (John's place, Croton): Didn't catch the disgorgement info on this, but it was delicious. Brightly fruited with a vivid mineral base beneath, and really lively acids underneath giving it a vibrant and energetic palate presence. Delicious and very easy to drink. (2979 views)

2022 Patrick Piuze Chablis Plateau de la Cornasse (France, Burgundy, Chablis) 12/23/2023salil90

Similar impressions to kenv, though I'll also note I really like this as a value - definitely need to find more of these lieu dit bottlings from Piuze. (403 views)

2016 Domaine Heitz-Lochardet Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru) 11/21/2023salil94

Ken's note nails it - just a wonderful showing on pnp with layers of fruit, florality, and minerality, and remarkable depth and presence. Great wine and I'm glad I have more. (467 views)

2020 Domaine de Montille Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly Blanc (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru) 9/17/2023salil93

Oh hell yeah. Easily one of the best St. Aubins I've had, and a wine I definitely need to start buying regularly. (Thanks Jared.) Terrific wine - starts with a beautiful scent that's all rocky minerality and fresh herbs, and the palate has impressive richness with bright citrus fruits, layers of chalky and saline minerality, and a long finish. 2019 Bouchard Père et Fils Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières Domaine (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru) 9/10/2023salil93

Loved this, total soil to glass transfer wine. I've found Bouchard inconsistent at times, but this absolutely hits the spot. Waves of rocky, saline minerality beneath tart citrus and green apple fruit, all conveyed with remarkable clarity, freshness, and length. Terrific wine. (1489 views)

2017 Louis Jadot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle Domaine du Duc de Magenta (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru) 9/10/2023salil87

Liked but didn't love this - I normally find myself really enjoying this bottling, but this particular bottle seemed to lack a gear or two in depth compared to other vintages I've enjoyed more. Came across slightly simple and one-note, and I found myself wanting both another gear of complexity and a bit more energy on the palate. (573 views)

2011 Joseph Drouhin / Drouhin-Vaudon Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos (France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru) 9/10/2023salil90

Liked this a lot, though the green notes of the vintage do appear on the nose a bit more than I'd like and give it a slightly Sauvignon-like quality. Beyond the light greenness, there's plenty of tart, bright citrus fruit and stony minerality, and a spine of really bright acidity. (371 views)

2013 Domaine Laroche Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot (France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru) 9/10/2023salil93

Just what I want my Chablis to be, layers of saline and rocky mineral notes around a core of tart, pale orchard fruit. Love the balance and sense of refreshment here - this is terrific. (346 views)
