Falltacular 2018--some TNs (My House In The South OC): Opened yesterday, kept cool overnight under opened screw cap. Dig the light petrol in the aromatic. Pure, balanced, solid fruit core of what seems like a mix of melon, kiwi and some vivid acidity that lengthens the finish of the wine. The finish has the same spicy kiwi note that tingles for several seconds. This is medium weighted, with the edges lightly polished. Good stuff. (1573 views)

Tercero Dinner #2 in the OC with Larry Schaffer (A Restaurant In Newport Beach, CA): Shows the same aromatic consistency from the 2009 and 2011, with the diesel/petrol note. Shading of lemon, the same depth of melon found in the other two vintages and the a guava-like note. I wrote "pure" in my notes, to convey a balance and clean sensation. Like with a lot of Larry's wines last night, there is a spicy note in the finish, this one anise-like for me. (2199 views)

Tercero Dinner #2 in the OC with Larry Schaffer (A Restaurant In Newport Beach, CA): Similar to the 2009 with the diesel/petrol note, although lighter in aromatic volume than the 2009. I find more citrus and acidity here compared to the 2009, with the melon notes leaner and more focused, too. Acidity is very present. Shows the signature of the vintage. (2102 views)

Tercero Dinner in the OC with Larry Schaffer (My House In The South OC): Discussion at the table surrounding the petrol note on the nose. Adds a distinctive quality. Green melon, what I thought was a hint of strawberry and a soft palate. (1517 views)

Opened last night, drinking today with a bit of the fridge chill on it. The flavors shows a nice mix of melon, yellow apple, dried pineapple and light drying tannin of stone. Finishes fresh, whch is supported by by some laser acidity that drives it home. Another person tasting with me called the acid grapefruit--that's a great descriptor. This is very good, refreshing, no flab and terrific intensity. (2661 views)
