Same bottle as Nutty08 and his note is spot on. The American oak shows through (bourbon barrel and a little faint dill). Ultra dark and extracted with lactic notes and wood tannins, this was served blind and I called “new world modern cabernet”. It has strayed down the modernized path from the last time I tasted this bottling. (2796 views)

Just a massive wine. On opening, the nose was closed, but gave notes of wrought iron and licorice. On the palate, dense, pure black cherry, luxardo, and sweet vermouth. A hint more of licorice. Coarse tannins that soften on day 2. Dynamic changes over that time frame. Huge wine, will gladly pick up some to age (2124 views)

So much smoke on the nose and palate. Secondary notes of blackberry and baking spices. Coarse tannins make it taste tight and very young. A very interesting wine and could stand up to many strong foods, in fact, even a good steak was not enough (1283 views)

Fantastic stuff. Expressive nose, notes of cedar, black currant, black pepper, with touches of anise and menthol. Medium finish, and still plenty of grip. Drinking great (3157 views)
