Excellent line and length and mouth feel. Lime, lemon pith, lemon grass, grass, on warming in glass a slight vegetal element, probably best described as snow pea, maybe cabbage. Earthy minerality. Tough one to score. 91 before it warmed. Fear that vegetal element may become more pronounced in time could have me saying 88. For now, 90 all up. Hunter Semillon continues to fascinate and perplex me, so much variety of style according to terroir and age. (1961 views) | ||||

Juicy Rhone goodness. More or less as per the label. Raspberry, blackberry, cherry, cranberry, touch of liquorice, more than a bit of structure. Tannins are a tad too drying. Showed better on second night, first was dilute and not giving much away, so might be a cheapie but could do with being decanted. I was 86 on night one, at least 88 on night two. (1337 views) | ||||
