Pw 10 min glass time. Clear, deep dark purple. Thick glycerin strained legs. If you like rich, big Spanish reds, you can't go wrong. Med/full body, fairly extracted, ideal drinking window with superb balance. No rough edge or harshness, resolved tannins, long finish. Notes of dark fruit, earth, ripe plum, burned leather. PnP, no decant. Clear, med purple color. Cork 1/4 soaked but sound. Now I remember why I like aged Bordeaux. Although a value wine, it drank much better than it's price point. Med/full body and flavor intensity, perfectly balanced and ideal drinking window. Rich, blue and black fruit, long finish, no taint of any kind. Not over earthy, just nice fruit you could drink all day. Served with an 09 Bordeaux and a nice Rhone with Prime Rib. Wish I had more, nothing off. $35 at release. (2115 views)

PnP w/30 min in glass. Clear, med purple color. Initially rather closed, tight and thin. Figured the vintage was to blame but after a hour, the wine blossomed into a very nice med body, well rounded, blue and red fruit winner. Dry/astringent, notes of cola, earth, with a long finish and classic KB finish. Not the over extracted juice of yesteryear. Nothing off. $91. (1242 views)

PnP, room temp, no decant. Clear, med purple/ruby color and legs. Med to full intensity nose. A continuation of CA style change from a decade ago. What used to be from the more premier producers was a fat, powerful, highly extracted product. Although the power is still there, this bottle drank much leaner with less cola, more red fruit and plenty of acidity. Good integration and balance, this will easily hold for years. PnP straight to glass, cool temp. Clear, pale straw color, med legs. Proper med intensity Chard nose. Initial taste was underwhelming, fully mature, soft, a bit steely with just a hint of oak & vanilla but the late finish brought brighter fruit, more acid. Classic CA Chard flavor profile. Proper varietal flavor, lively fruit, strong acid, tart, sharp, clean with a hint of oak, vanilla, wet stone, slate, lemon, clay. A slight resemblance to Burgundy.
