2006 Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay Art Series (Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River) 2/15/2021TheBosWineGuy94

There aren’t many places in the world where you find this level of ripeness in the fruit with high levels of acidity. This is apparently the final vintage that sees the wine go through malolactic fermentation. It assaults the senses to be honest and for that reason it needs rich dishes to balance it out otherwise it’s going to be all you taste (and talk about) and that’s for good reason. (2000 views)

2002 Tim Adams Shiraz The Aberfeldy (Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley) 2/15/2021TheBosWineGuy92

I’m biased because I think that this is consistently one of the world’s best Syrah’s. You can still tell this this was a ripe year, the depth of fruit is impressive even after all these years. The American oak is still very present on the nose and continues to provide structure and tannins. Incredibly round and supple. Excellent. (757 views)

2016 Jean-Luc Colombo St. Péray La Belle de Mai (France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, St. Péray) 2/15/2021TheBosWineGuy91

So much complexity with a nice round mouthfeel. Stone fruit, particularly apricot and peach, dominate the initial flavors and mid palate with ginger rounding out the finish. A fantastic wine worth seeking out. (477 views)

2004 Château Beausejour (Duffau Lagarrosse) (France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru) 2/15/2021TheBosWineGuy92

Last of my 6 bottles. Best looking cork and finest nose and palate of any of the bottles I’ve had. Nice complexity in the fruit, still very dry with pretty good balance given its age. Was fantastic with beef wellington. (2089 views)
