In great shape, with lush dark fruit and a touch of spice (cinnamon?). Dinged a point or two for some evident heat as well as a lack of varietal typicity, but still showed well. (1155 views)

The deep purple color of this wine belies the expectation of a full bodied wine. The short legs give a truer window on what is coming. The early flavors of bright red fruit including raspberries and pomegranate are accentuated with pronounced acidity. There is an angular mouthfeel to the light body which quickly adds a light persimmon pucker and minerals to a rather short finish. (1684 views)

Light red to purple, strong sweet cherry Flavors, Tobacco, leather on the mid palate with soft finish. Well made Mouvedre which is more of a food wine to me. (2263 views)

I don't think it's very correct in a varietal sense, but it is delicious. Bright and racy, with very ripe red fruit and long finish. Just the hint of oak spice. (1808 views)

PNP, couldn't wait. Subtle nose with less tar and meat, and more dark fruit. Palette is broad with dark cherry, plum, and cola that I always love in Mourved. Finish could be longer, but fades into pleasant dried fruit and raisin. Can't wait to try the rest of the '10 lineup from Denner.

Chewy, jammy? How do you describe a wine that makes you feel like you took a bite of something great. Getting a lot of fruit, blackberry and plum. Very nice smooth finish. Drinkable now. (2067 views)

Another beauty from Denner. Juicy plum and boysenberry type fruits, with some fresh meat, dark chocolate, and a dusting of bright cinnamon (I picked up that same cinnamon element in their Ditch Digger as well). Good structure and fairly bright acidity. Lovely precision and elegance for a mourved. Great juice and shows well already, though this should flesh out in the cellar. Always a big fan of a well made mourved, this is classy example is right up my alley.

Based on very favorable experiences with their Ditch Digger, Dirt Worshipper, Grenache, and now this, I'd say the challanges of the cold 2010 "shatter" vintage were deftly handled by the team at Denner. With a collection of bright and classy wines, I love the direction they're heading. (2035 views)
