Paso Robles Wine Trip; 9/12/2017-9/14/2017: Aromas of tart cherries, yet rich dark plums, some spicy tobacco and red licorice tossed in. Vibrant, pretty, suave tannins, moderating acidity. Tangy red plums and raspberries blend very well with spicy tea, mint, rhubarb, cola and pepper. Delightful stuff that is aging very well. (1918 views)

Very pretty wine but with broad shoulders. The brightness has faded and a little clove and licorice are starting to predominate. The alcohol remains just in check and the body otherwise is fresh. Though the winemaker currently 'guesses' it will hold to 2024 I would drink up as I don't expect the alcohol to continue to be restrained. (1507 views)

Very well crafted; easy to drink! We got lots of wonderful bright red fruit flavors; no alcohol heat. Just a really easy drinking, lighter bodied wine! (1713 views)

In a really good spot now, given a good decant. Nice red fruit, dark raspberry, mild spices... nicely balanced new world grenache. Definitely recommended. (1634 views)

Needed 30 minutes for funk to blow off. Pleasant floral bouquet. Bramble, tart strawberry and modest vanilla notes. Finish is dominated by alcohol but some wonderful fruit notes try to show through. (1596 views)

Purple-garnet color, clear. Has a lovely nose of black cherry juice and limestone with hints of pipe tobacco and leather. Mouth is rich with glycerin and black plum/cherry, very fruit-driven, slightly hot. Finish is a little hot in the end, but the fruit still dominates the structure. Still getting some nice minerals/limestone in there. It's a pleasurable wine and should please anyone who appreciates a good Grenache-driven Rhone/CDP (even though this is only about 25% Grenache).

Good QPR. Give it a couple hour decant or until 2015. (1341 views)

15.1% ABV. Mostly translucent dark garnet in the glass. Raspberry, cherry fruit with a chalky soil and mineral note. Perhaps a suggestion of iodine. Medium full bodied with ripe fruit on the palate mirroring the nose with a touch of late balsa. A little closed on the palate. I suggest decanting or giving this 1-2 years in the cellar, but overall nice. (2935 views)

Nose of big raspberry and bright cherry along with potpourri. Mid palate is medium weight, finish is powerful with firm grip and raspberry with cherry and orange peel.
